Interesting e-mail
I just recieved an e-mail on the Pro-Test address which I thought I'd share:

Subject: re:proposed lab
From: Steven McLean <ste_mclean@yahoo.co.uk>
Date: 01/02/2006 23:59
To: contact@pro-test.org.uk

So you are going to be in Oxford on the 25th feb?
You do realise that it could be dangerous for you to be there?
Why not stay at home with your mummy?
You could utilise your time by wanking in your bedroom .. you seem to enjoy masturbation!
Take care and beware!!!

My reply:

Dear Mr McLean,

Thank you very much for your warning regarding my safety. It is reassuring to know that the public has my best interests at heart. Fear not, however, as I have taken necessary precautions in this matter. Regarding the issue of my masturbatory habits, I believe that it is a healthy practice which I personally enjoy.

All the best,
-Sqrrl101

lets all make fake e-mail addresses and spam stuff at him
and sign up to newsletters on his behalf

I in no way officially condone this.
*ahem*
malkavianxmalkavianx on February 2nd, 2006 12:31 am (UTC)
OK, OK. Your E-mail reply is probably enough to make him stop with all the threatening. We could always just find the specifics of the very official law against threatening people and post him them.

Have you seen the story about you on the SPEAk website?

Maybe you should have a section on the Pro_test website where you can post all the emails from the crazies.

On the news tonight: The ALF state that any group or individual involved with the Oxford lab is a legitimate target; we have one assurance of "any measures, up to and including arson attacks, so long as no life is endangered" set against about eight ominous sounding "These individuals will be TARGETED".

The worst feat ITV news can come up with to support their dire warnings is that they burned a boathouse last year.

Smell the coffee
I wonder about kids these days. The animal rights movement is a little bit more than a school play ground prank. You only need to look at the history of the animal right movement to know that these people are not playing around and you should think about what you are doing.

The movement has taken on a multi billion pound industry, an industry that two of the main players have threatened to pull out of the UK because of the actions of the ALF and the presure from the movement as a whole. People wake up to expensive cars paint stripped, tyers slashed and all form of damage. This is just childs play, whole companies have had their property targeted with arson and damage. The police have their own squad just for the animal rights movement and the USA list the ALF as a domestic terrorist threat.

What do you think a handfull of teenagers are going to do to stop the animal rights movement? Do you know something the police and the government do not?

Yes your personal life has got alot to do with it. How do you expect the public to take notice of a young boy who has a journal about his mastibation habbits? Not to mention your lack of knowledge of the subject. I noticed you post outside link to medical reaserch sites yet you forget to link to the none medical testing thats goes on in the UK.

To be credable you need to be able to debate the whole issue and not just the parts you think might win points. You want a debate then lets get to it. Where do you want to start?

Re: Smell the coffee
Well, let's start with my argument that animal based research is the best way of going about medical research (I don't support cosmetic testing). If it isn't, as the ALF and other such groups seem to claim, then what alternatives are there?

Why are they so fixated on your age? Makes me want to link their own fanaticism to a disturbed adolescence...

They appear scared that a 16 year old has stronger arguments than them.

Call this an argument? Would be nice to see you back up you opinions with fact.
