Shut up
Seriously. If I hear one more thing about 2012, I'm reasonably certain I'm going to go insane. The Mayans were primitive folk who didn't know what a star was, and it's absurd to think that they had any kind of special knowledge. I'm sure lots of interesting and impressive things are going to happen in 2012, but the end of the world is not one of them and, if you think it is, you're an idiot.

Well, if John McCain is elected, you never know.

Anyone who thinks the world is going to end isn't an idiot; they're just missing the point. All the mayan calendar does is predict the end of the current age. That's enough of a nebulous concept that you can apply any number of outcomes to it - from the literal 'world actually ceases to be' to the technosingularity, to something like 'the london olympics ushered in a new era of peace and prosperity! everything's different now! but it's taken us till december to realise...'

But this is a slightly surprising rant to see. Have people really been insisting to you that the world will literally end? Hmm. Well, whatever, it's still a bloody good excuse for a party, and one i intend to take advantage of :P

No, but I'm certainly enraged by it. A blog post shall be forthcoming.

Yeah, sounds like the kind of thing you'd do though. The guy even had a quote from a judge to back him up.
